About Systems Field Notes
Hi, I'm Mariah. I learned about business systems the hard way - by building them from scratch.
Fifteen years ago, I started as an assistant at a small kitchen and bath renovation company. Back then, it was just me and the owner, trying to keep track of everything on Post-it notes and hoping nothing fell through the cracks (spoiler alert: things did).
Through years of trial and error, problem-solving, and more than a few late nights, I helped drive growth. Today, as the Business Manager, I oversee the systems and processes that keep our operations running smoothly.
But here's the thing I discovered along the way: building effective business systems isn't about having a huge team or expensive software. It's about starting small, measuring what matters, and growing intentionally.
I created Systems Field Notes because I believe every small business deserves access to good systems - whether you're a team of one or one hundred. You don't need complex frameworks or enterprise-level solutions. You just need practical, field-tested processes that actually work in the real world.
What you'll find here are battle-tested insights from my 15-year journey in small business operations.
Just simple systems that help you:
- Organize your daily operations
- Track metrics that matter
- Build processes that grow with you
- Turn chaos into clarity
Because remember... systems are just yesterday's problems solved for tomorrow.
Let's build something that works for your business.
-Mariah
